48-Hour Film Project

This coming weekend, you likely won't see any new posts on this blog. Posts of new content will resume on Monday. The reason for that is, I'll be participating in Chicago's 48-Hour Film Project!

For those who are unfamiliar with this competition, each group has to make a movie within 48 hours. On Friday evening, the contest's requirements are revealed--including a line of dialogue that must be in the film, a character that must be included, and a prop that you need to use. Then, we set off creating our movies, and have until Sunday evening to write the script, film the movie, and complete post-production.

My group is pictured in the graphic I made above. We're the Yuppies (Young Urban Productions), which comes from me & Cice's YouTube channel. Our friends Meghan and Jake have joined us for this project, as well as a few other friends that will be helping out with sound, make-up, and as production assistants.

I'll be writing the script for the movie, starting tonight, after we receive the prompt. I'm super excited for this, since I used to write screenplays all the time back in college, and haven't had as much of an opportunity to do so lately!

Here's a super cool article in the Chicago Tribune about what we'll be doing--check out Cice's quote!

Anyway, none of us are expecting to sleep much this weekend, since we'll be busy with this! On Monday, I'll be sure to let you all know how it went!

I'm also planning to vlog about our journey of sleep deprivation this weekend, so be sure to check out our YouTube channel!

Happy Friday!

Love,
Savy
