Weekly Pupdate: One Month til Launch Party!
Hello, friends!
Last week I posted a pupdate about it being one month away from the Furever Home Friends release date! Today, we're one month away from the launch party!
The launch party is going to be held at Open Books, a bookstore in Downtown Chicago. You can check out the Facebook event for the launch party here.
We're planning all kinds of fun things for the launch party!
The biggest thing is, of course, the book signing! I'll be signing books for anyone who wants to buy one! We'll have books available for sale there!
Keep this in mind, too: 10% of all the profits we make on book sales, including at this event, will benefit animal shelters! Our first beneficiary is going to be ALIVE Rescue, where Chewie's from!
Also, we'll be having a reading! Everyone is encouraged to bring their kids to the launch party, because we'll be having a read-aloud of the first two books in the series!
Now, onto the special stuff!
No party is complete without baked goods! So we're going to be having pawprint cookies! I'm not sure yet if they're going to be pawprint shaped, or have pawprint icing. But either way, they'll be homemade, and they'll be delicious.
And now, for the biggest, most exciting announcement:
One of our very own celebrities, Princess Allee herself, will be there! We have been cleared by the bookstore to bring a dog to the event! So, everyone who comes to the launch party will be able to meet Allee, the black lab who stars in our first book! She'll be wearing her pink collar! (Parents: if you bring your kids, I just ask that you make sure they are gentle toward Allee. It's best if they ask me individually before petting her. She's a very sweet girl, but she's about 10 years old now, and I don't want anyone rough-housing with her.)
Anyway, just one month until our awesome launch party! Get excited!! I sure am!!
