Today I'm taking a break from giving writing advice, and instead just sharing some cute news. As of this weekend, we have a new dog in the family!

If you've read this blog at all, you probably know that I have a little pit bull mix named Chewie (the love of my life), and that my parents have an adorable black lab named Allee. (You may also know that these dogs were the inspiration for the Furever Home Friends series, which is coming out this August, and features the stories of different shelter dogs!)

If you read my Memorial Day post, you may know that Allee has been super sad ever since her older brother Buddy died of old age. Though she still misses him, Allee's been doing much better since meeting her new little sister!

Meet Wrigley!

Wrigley is a standard schnauzer mix, though her face makes her look like a lab. She's a puppy, just 13 weeks old, and we're all so excited to welcome her into the family!

While visiting my parents for Father's Day, I got to meet Wrigley, who is the sweetest little girl. She loves cuddling, taking naps, and occasionally trying to chew on your hands.

sister, Allee! Wrigley's like 1/10 of Allee's size.
Wrigley is named after Wrigley Field, where the Cubs play. Chewie's also a Cubs fan; he and I love watching games on the couch together. I'm hoping that one day Chewie and Wrigley can hang out together and watch the Cubs. For now, Chewie has anxiety issues from the abuse he suffered in his past, so he struggles to meet new dogs. He gets really nervous, starts barking, and wants to get away. Tyler and I are working on trying to get Chewie used to the process of meeting new dogs, and teach him that it's nothing to be afraid of. It's a long process, though, and old habits are hard to break.

Either way, Wrigley is a happy new member of our family. So I thought I'd share some pictures of her!

Happy Father's Day!
